Ingredients

For the Grilled Steak:

  • 200g lean steak (aim for a cut like sirloin or tenderloin for lower fat content and more protein)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Garlic Roasted Brussels Sprouts:

  • 300g Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  2. For the Grilled Steak:

    • Rub the lean steak with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt, ensuring it's evenly coated.

    • Grill the steak to your desired level of doneness. For a 200g steak, it should take approximately 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, but adjust the timing based on your preference. Avoid overcooking to maintain tenderness.

    • Once done, remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.

  3. For the Garlic Roasted Brussels Sprouts:

    • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).

    • In a large bowl, combine the halved Brussels sprouts, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Toss until the Brussels sprouts are well-coated with the seasoning.

    • Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.

    • Roast in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until the Brussels sprouts are tender and lightly browned, giving them a gentle toss halfway through the roasting time.

  4. Plating:

    • Serve the grilled steak sliced, alongside the garlic roasted Brussels sprouts.
